(VIDEO) The 5 o’clock Thai Food Market

Reminiscent of ancient Thai Buddhist belief, this Thai food marketplace experiences a cycle of rebirth every day. Let me take you on a brief video tour of my local marketplace and show you a few of my favorite dishes and snacks.

If you pass by the Thai food market early in the day, it’ll look like nothing more than an abandoned warehouse. But once the clock strikes 5 o’clock p.m., this seemingly desolate building springs to life, offering shoppers anything from fresh fruit to live eel. Whatever you’re looking for, you can find it at a Thai food market, and you can bet that it’ll be fresh, cheap, and delicious!

I come to this marketplace most days of the week. For $5, I can stock up on heaps of fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs, meat and fish. Whatever I crave, it’s available at the 5 o’clock Thai food market.

Thanks for watching this short video!
