“White Chinese Guy” Teaches You How To Learn Chinese

Making “How To Learn Chinese” videos is a popular trend among China YouTubers. But because these videos are usually sponsored, the agenda of these videos isn’t actually to help you learn, but rather to sell a product, service or app that in my opinion isn’t helpful. That’s why I’m joined by my friend Jayme to show you the best tips to (actually) help you increase your vocabulary.

  1. English!? Wow there is almost no accent left… sounds so American
  2. This guy’s been in china so long that he has lost the british accent.
  3. I was expecting your English to be like an actual Chinese person
  4. You sounded American then moved into a kinda British accent at 1:05 so weird
  5. Man your english accent is so perfectly in between british and american my brain can’t compute. Also this is a great video
  6. Being a Taiwanese, I think he has a good command of Chinese. The accent, fluency, collocation are all extraordinary!!!!!
  7. His accent is almost all gone. He’s been hanging out with Americans, I see 😂
  8. You inspire me so much to keep doing what I do – I’ve been learning Mandarin for 3 years now, and it can be hard sometimes, but I just recently discovered your videos and every time I’m seeing you speaking Mandarin so flawlessly, it inspires me to keep going and to study harder so I can become as amazing as you some day soon 🙂 Thanks for your videos. I’ll be in SH next year doing an internship for 6 months, so maybe we could meet and catch up, if you’re up to it 🙂 Would be amazing!
  9. Great video! My son learned Mandarin using Rosetta Stone 9 years ago. Took him 3 1/2 years to complete all 5 levels and became fluent orally after that. Learning Chinese has changed his life. In the past 4 years, he has been to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tiawan, Beijing, Shenzhen and Seoul, Korea all for University study and language programs. He is now in Graduate school taking International relations and Political Science.
  10. Great advise! I watch a lot of movies and listen to a lot of music but never thought to pause to write down the words I don’t know. I’ve been looking to improve my writing so I’m going to start doing that. Looking forward to more videos!
