Chinese FIRE CUPPING Therapy

Chinese fire cupping therapy is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses a flame and cups to bring “bad blood” to the skin’s surface, which is believed to bring detoxification, pain relief and a variety of other health benefits.

Because it’s my first time cupping, I brought Tina along with me to a local Shanghai cupping center. She’s no stranger to this type of treatment and claims that it can really help her feel better.

  1. I love cupping. There’s a SLIGHT discomfort but when the cups are pulled off, you get full body chills. Amazing
  2. I’ve been in China for about 10 years. I remember the first time I saw someone on the street with those marks and I thought that was some crazy hickey. Since then I’ve had it done and it really works to relax tight muscles. In China there are so many different procedures that are awesome for massage. The best part is it is so cheap!
  3. Drink hot water after cupping, do not drink ice water. The temperature of the bath water is slightly higher.Don’t let cool air in because the pores are open.Only in this way can we feel the true curative effect of cupping.
  4. For those who worry about the bruises, you can ask the therapist to adjust the strength of suction to make it more gentle or only do a session of moving cups as shown in the video with a medium strength.
  5. I left Shanghai for Canada when I was a teenager, now in my 30s, your channel is a great way for me to keep in touch with my hometown, keep it up! Maybe learn some Shanghainese for your future videos. Haha!
  6. Great cupping in the Chinatown district here in Houston! I did my 5th treatment yesterday. Due to my fair skin people often ask how long it takes to see the marks fade…for me its only about a week. Thanks for sharing…i send your video to people when they ask me what cuppong is!
  7. A lot of professionals sports teams in the USA are doing this treatment now in the last 4-5 years.
  8. It is actually to stimulate circulation of your body by expanding capillary, that’s how this treatment works
  9. I live in NYC, the cupping in chinatown sucks and is not professional at all. Every time I go back to China, first place I go to right off the plane is the cupping massage place 🙂 It really makes you feel so much better, this is a lot evident for people over 30 years old.
  10. I grew up seeing this practice a lot from my older family members especially when they come down with a cold or potentially the flu. It is Eastern Medicine to combat taking Western Medications. I also saw my family member boil a huge pot of water with rising steam and cover themselves with a blanket to cure themselves of the potential cold, like a sauna bath. The key is understanding your body and read the warning signs before getting sick. Just go to the grocery store buy yourself about 10-15 Gerber baby food jars, clean and rinse it and repurpose the jars. The baby food jars can be found at any expensive general stores.Read more
