Chongqing, China: China’s Hidden Travel Gem

Chongqing is a city in China known for its hills, fog, and spicy food. It’s kind of like Hong Kong, but with a much more laid-back vibe that’s characteristic of the Sichuan basin region. I went here with a few friends and decided to make this little travel vlog. Hope you enjoy!

  7. I gave it a thumbs up only because I live in Chongqing part time. I love the city! Friendly and helpful people, AWESOME food (not just hot pot), beautiful women. Unlike Shenzhen or Shanghai, Westerner influence is far less in Chongqing. It is a Chinese city becomng modern at beakneck speed. Would recommend a visit here over any other place in China first. But I am biased. lol
  8. I went to Chongqing for 3 weeks in January 2020. It was truly an amazing experience that I will never forget. I was shocked at how clean the city is. The train system is also excellent, I never had to wait more than 3 mins. My favourite parts were Jiefangbei CBD, Cable Car, Ciqikou Old Town, Raffles City, IFS mall. For those considering visiting Chongqing: Not many people speak English, I was fortunate enough to be visiting a local who was my tour guide & translator. Recommended hotel: Mercure Chongqing Downtown
  9. OMG I love that somebody had the balls to say “Hey let’s build the light rail right through those buildings.” I would love to live in that building. I hate commuting and that would make it so easy. This just increased my desire to learn Mandarin.
  10. I just came back from Chongqing and Chengdu for short visit. Went to People’s Park and Jin Li in Chengdu. Went to Hong Ya Dong, Chi Qi Kou, Yang Tze boat trip, stayed at a hotel in Jei Fang Bei in Chongqing. Had a hot pot meal in Jin Li, Peking Duck and Starbucks at Hong Ya Dong. Some more hot pot meals in Chongqing. Very historic and beautiful. Will go again sometimes in the future to visit the other places in Chengdu and Chongqing.
